Carlos is a versatile and expressive musician whose vast experience and artistic talents have made him a sought after live and studio artiste.
Carlos is a natural talent who was born into a family of musicians and so from a very early age was exposed to music. As a child he showed so much interest in music that his family felt obliged to send him for formal music studies. He studied the violin with Bogotá’s most famous violinist Rodolfo Briseño and so began playing in classical orchestra’s from the tender age of eleven years old.
At the age of fifteen the life of Carlos changed radically .He met and started to study with the Cuban virtuoso percussionist Frank Calzadilla. This led him to several years of in depth music study with a scholarship in ‘Universidad Pedagógica Nacional of Colombia.
In his professional career Carlos has performed for more than twelve years with several prestigious bands in South America, performing festivals in Colombia; including four consecutive appearances at the renowned festivals ‘Rock Al Parque’(the biggest rock festival in South America) and ‘U Jazz Festival’ playing with the likes of Victor Taboada and Dionisio Taboada.
In 2007 he recorded the first THE HALL EFFECT BAND album.
His extensive musical background has distinguishes Carlos as one of the sought after musicians in Colombia.
In 2008 He used to play with a Latin Jazz band GCA Project. He continues extensive studies into different genres of world music including Latin, African, Brazilian and current dance music. Carlos’s talents also reach into music production; he is currently involved in numerous music collaborations such as recycled percussion trio Groove Reactive syncussion and percussion duo Kaos2Order and a new rock recording project Realstone.
In 2009 Carlos worked in Phuket, Thailand DJing with the best pull of DJ’s in town at SOUND PHUKET disco in Phaton Beach. He performed as a DJ and percussionist in WHITE BOX, STEREO LAB, and BABA Phuket (Sri panwa).
Carlos had lives in Bangkok Thailand where he works as a resident drummer with “Too Close Band” in NOVOTEL CM2. He is currently involved in the Trevor Newman’s Band and numerous music collaborations with Nicolai Kehlet PARADISE PRODUCTION Bangkok.
Carlos currently living in Taipei, ready to teach drums to anybody who interested to play drums.
